Catherine Seaton Skirving was born March 10, 1818 in Inveresk, Midlothian, Scotland, the daughter of John Skirving and Margaret Wardlaw. She was one of my great-great-great grandmother's (Helen Skirving Maitland) sisters. She married Thomas Ewart in Toronto, Ontario on September 2, 1846 and died there May 7, 1897.

ReplyDeleteI'm looking for information on Jane Skirving. She was married to Walter Hannah and they had son, Walter John. They lived in Helensburgh in Scotland although she lived in Toronto after her husband died. She died in Toronto 1891. Was she related to Catherine?

Not my Jane. My Jane Skirving (Sister of Catherine) married William Sclanders and she died in 1881.
