Too-Too Thursday - What's up Ancestry.com

I shudder to think what it will be like when Ancestry.com goes live with the 1940 census. Right now I am getting the most bizarre results. Like this recent search for John E. Carter is Missouri on the 1930 census. I got 28 hits. Unfortunately, none of them even had Carter in their name. What is up with that ancestry.com?

  1. I am glad to hear I am not the only one with this problem. I figured it was me. Hopefully, it is a short term glitch.

  3. When did you do this search? Did you do this from within Facebook? Your screen looks nothing like my Ancestry screen results.

On the Ancestry 1930 census page, I searched for Exact Search, John Carter, born 1888, lived in Missouri and got 5 matches. For Exact, John Carter, born 1888 in Missouri, I got 3 matches.

  4. Randy, NO I DID NOT do this search from inside FB. I use the old search on Ancestry. I get results like this about 10% of the time.
