[Somewhere along the way, the Zimmeth name translated to Simmet for this branch of the family. William was the son of Frank Zimmeth or Simmet and Lena Helwig, both from Lancaster, New York. Frank was a nephew of my great-grandfather, August Zimmeth. August's oldest brother was Michael Zimmeth, William's grandfather.]
